Branding Design FAQs

May 30, 2022

If you’re looking to hire a branding designer, you’ll no doubt want to know more about the design process, your investment, what you are going to get out of the process and how your designer works. This is why I want to mention my branding design FAQs as they’re a collection of a lot of the questions I get asked by most of my clients.

I get asked a lot of these questions, especially as some of my clients might have worked with a designer before and my process might be different, or because it’s their first time working with a branding designer because they have done it all themselves until now. I genuinely want to answer all the questions my potential clients have and make sure they’re completely comfortable and that we are a good fit before we work together.

Below are some of my most frequently asked questions. Hopefully I have answered yours here too.

Can you just design me a quick logo?

To be absolutely honest, no. There is a really good reason for this and it’s actually to help your business, not to try and be difficult or to try and make more money from you. This is where you really need to think about the bigger picture of your business and your brand.

Your brand is about so much more than just the visual stuff and your logo. Your brand is all about the experience you deliver and everything you do in your business, so a logo alone isn’t going to cut it. What’s more, you’ll need to be present across so many different online touch points, some of which will require much more than just a logo. Think about your Instagram feed for example. This needs to visually represent your brand, but you can’t be simply posting images of your logo every day. That’s why your brand will need to include a colour palette, a look and feel, a style of photography, a mood, a voice, and probably feature images of you and your team if you have one, to add a face to your brand.

You can read more about the reasons why a logo alone won’t be enough to attract your dream clients in this blog post.

Can you create custom brand packages?

Absolutely. I encourage you to go for a more bespoke brand package and on our discovery call, we will go through exactly what requirements you and your business have in terms of branding because every single business is different and what will work for one may not serve another.

We’ll look at things like whether you’re an online business, in which case you might not have a need for business cards, but an email signature would be important, or if you meet a lot of potential clients face to face, then physical printed branding material will be necessary. Maybe you’re a food business and need packaging, or a product based business that needs branded stickers for your shipping boxes, it’s all possible and can be completely tailored to your needs.

Do you offer payment plans?

Yes, of course. I will always take a 50% payment on booking in your project and then the balance 50% payment on completion of the project, but if your need to break down payments further into more manageable payments, then just ask. My aim is to make paying for your project as simple and achievable as possible as I know it’s an investment that’s 100% worth it.

How will you deliver my branding?

Once we have finalised all the elements of your branding project and the final payment has been made, I will send all your documents over to your Google Drive where you can use them as you need to and continue to store them.

How can I use my branding?

It’s completely up to you how you’d like to use your branding and whether you’d like me to help you further with this. I will supply you with all the branding files you need to continue using your branding across all the platforms you’ll need to use. I can help you by further creating layouts for specific touch points online including social media and email marketing and I can create additional printed items for your business. I also offer social media templates that will help keep your business on brand across all the platforms you use online. I’ll set you up on Canva empowering you or one of your team to use these templates and to create anything you need whilst keeping it all on brand.

How will we keep track of the project?

I use Asana and absolutely swear by it. Asana is a project management tool that helps me keep in constant contact with my clients throughout the process of working with them. Working with my clients is a collaborative process and Asana is a great platform to set up and manage tasks. You can also message within Asana meaning no emails getting lost or information getting confused along the way.

When can we get started on my branding project?

My availability to start new projects varies depending the number of current clients I have, but I typically book 1-3 months in advance. please bear in mind that most projects take 1-3 months to complete depending on their complexity, but also depending on your availability to have feedback calls and complete the tasks necessary for you for the project too.

How can I book you for my branding project?

Get in touch and we can then book in for a discovery call to chat through your ideas, your goals and what your business really needs. I will create a bespoke proposal and once you are happy, contracts are signed and  the initial payment is made I am then all yours to get started on your branding project.
