What your business is missing by not having a website

Let’s cut to the chase: not having a website for your business today is like trying to win a marathon with one shoe missing. As a website designer, I’ve seen how a well-crafted website can turbocharge a business, and it pains me to see some businesses still on the sidelines. 

I’m not just a website designer but also a consumer, just like you and just like your ideal clients. I know that when I first connect with someone, I naturally want to learn more about them and what they have to offer. This naturally leads me to look for a way to click through to their website away from social media. If there is no website, it feels like this leaves me hanging.

Visibility

Imagine this: a potential customer is searching for a product or service that you offer. They pull out their phone or hop on their laptop and start searching. If your business doesn’t have a website, you might as well be invisible when it comes to organic search.

Having a website means you’re showing up on the radar of your potential customers. You’re there when they’re looking for solutions, and that’s priceless. Without a website, you’re missing out on a significant chunk of your target audience who rely on searching for stuff on Google for their daily dose of information.

Credibility

Think of your website as your business’s swanky office in the digital world. A well-designed website tells customers that you’re serious about what you do. It’s a chance to showcase your products or services, share your story, and build trust. Without a website, you’ll seem like you’re not really taking things seriously and people may even think you’re no longer in business if they can’t find out more about you on your website.

Marketing

Traditional marketing can be costly and hard to measure. But with a website, you have a digital marketing playground at your fingertips. You can dabble in SEO (Search Engine Optimization), social media marketing, email campaigns, and more. It’s like having a 24/7 free ad that you can tweak and measure for effectiveness without breaking the bank.

Engagement

Your website is your virtual playground for engaging with customers. You can write blogs, share news, run surveys, and even have a live chat option. Engaged customers are happy customers, and a website is your ticket to building and maintaining those valuable relationships.

Staying Ahead

Your competitors are probably already online, lapping up the digital goodness. If you’re not there, you’re missing out on a chance to stand out. A well-designed website can set you apart, make you memorable, and even win you some extra business.

Data

With a website, you get access to a treasure trove of data. You can track who’s visiting your site, where they’re coming from, what they’re interested in, and more. This data is pure gold for making informed decisions about your business and marketing strategies and testing and tweaking to improve your website over time.

Adapt or Get Left Behind

Consumer habits change fast. If you’re not online, you’re missing out on a significant chunk of your audience. More and more people turn to the internet for information and shopping. Not having a website is like saying, “I’m not interested in those potential customers over there.”

In a nutshell, not having a website today is making your journey much harder than it needs to be. If you’re still on the fence, it’s time to jump in.

I hear from so many business owners saying they are already smashing it on socials so they don’t need a website. If you are smashing it on socials, I congratulate you. Not everyone will feel comfortable buying through socials and will need more social proof in the form of a website to buy from you. So, think about how much more opportunity having a website could bring your business.
