Why blog in 2023 and how to do it

Jul 20, 2023

I’ve got news for you: blogging is still rocking the digital world in 2023! Yep, you heard that right – it’s not an old-school trend; it’s a tried-and-tested method to build your brand, connect with your audience, and increase your online presence. It’s worked so well in helping me grow my business, so I want to share all the tips with you on how it can help you build yours too.

Why Blogging Still Matters

Before we jump into the tips, let’s address the big question: Why should small business owners like you care about blogging? Well a well-crafted blog can work wonders for your brand. It’s a fantastic way to share your expertise, connect with your target audience, and establish yourself as a thought leader in your niche. Plus, search engines love fresh content, so regularly updating your blog can improve your website’s SEO and bring more visitors to your virtual doorstep.

Keep It Snappy: 300-700 Words

In this fast-paced digital world, nobody has the time or patience to read never-ending blog posts. The sweet spot for blog post length in 2023 is between 300 and 700 words. This length allows you to deliver valuable insights without overwhelming your readers. So, stick to the point, be concise, and deliver your message effectively.

Break It Down for Easy Reading

Long paragraphs are so last season! When it comes to blogging in 2023, breaking down your content into short, digestible paragraphs is the name of the game. Not only does this make your blog visually appealing, but it also helps readers stay engaged and prevents them from feeling lost in a sea of text. So, embrace the power of white space and hit that “Enter” key frequently.

Use Relevant Headers

Headers are your secret weapon for organizing your blog and guiding readers through your content. Not only do they make your blog more scannable, but they also help search engines understand the structure of your post. So, take advantage of headers to introduce new sections, highlight key points, and keep your readers hooked from start to finish.

Let Images Do the Talking

A picture is worth a thousand words, and that’s even truer in the blogging world. Break up your text with relevant images that add visual appeal and reinforce your message. Use high-quality photos, infographics, or custom graphics (you can use Canva to create these easily!) to make your blog posts more memorable and shareable on social media.

The Power of the Call to Action (CTA)

Alright, you’ve shared your valuable insights, entertained your readers, and now it’s time for the grand finale – the Call to Action! A CTA is a compelling invitation to take the next step, and in your case, that means directing readers to your services, encouraging them to get in touch, or enticing them to read another awesome blog post. Don’t be shy; ask your audience to engage with your brand!

Ready to Rock Your Blog?

Blogging in 2023 can be a game-changer for your small business. It’s a dynamic platform to showcase your expertise, build credibility, and connect with your audience on a deeper level. Remember, keep your blog posts between 300 and 700 words to respect your readers’ time. Break down your content into short paragraphs and use headers to make it easy to navigate. Sprinkle in some captivating images to keep your readers visually engaged, and don’t forget to end each post with a strong CTA.

So, what are you waiting for? Start writing those blog posts, and let your small business shine in the digital world!
